Exclusive interview of PCB media manager

Nadeem Sarwar is not a new name to the Media having been active in the Media Management and Public Relationship since 1994, with a variety of professional experience ranging from District Corporate Clients to the Public Agencies. He is currently the Head of Media Department in Pakistan Cricket Board and is virtually the icon representative of the Pakistan Cricket in media on official level.

Q1: What is the limitation of international cricketers, what can they speak publicly in media?
Ans: Well they can speak to the media, like all of us me and other board employers so as any other company when they contract to cricket board, then they need permission for the media talk and then the board grant permission to the media. Same is the case with the players, if a player is in the team, then naturally there are certain protocols to follow like asking for permission from the board.

Q2: Is there any step taken to handle the activities of cricketers outside the ground?
Ans: Well! Listen, make it clear. There are 2 phases when they are with team, there are certain rules, certain procedures and certain protocols. These are decided by the team management in the consultation of Captain and senior players. What has to be done, but when team is dissembled, they are free to do anything.

Q3: Do you feel any difference between the chairmanship of Ijaz Butt and Zaka Ashraf?
Ans: (After taking a breath), PCB is a professional organization where one comes and the 2nd one leaves. Everyone has a specific role, every chairman naturally has his own vision and priority for which he works for. Like in every organization, peon changes but the day to day working, being a professional organization remain the same.

Q4:How is PCB playing rule on the maintenance of Stadiums like Arbab Niaz Cricket stadium Peshawar which are in worst condition?
Ans: Well! we are trying our best to do that.

Q5: Any specific order of improvement from the board?
Ans: Well we keep our ground maintained and play first class matches on it and I'm not fully aware of any specific question on a partical ground, will not be able to reply you because I'm not ready for this question. .

Q6: Before turning to cricket in Pakistan, I'll ask a question about Peshawar, we haven't seen domestic tournament in Peshawar for long time? How should cricket return to Peshawar?
Ans: (After a long breath) Why? Quaid-e-Azam trophy matches have been played in Peshawar, I think you will do your homework on it.

Q7: As upcoming vice-president post to be allocated to joint nominee of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Will Pakistan get assured that Bangladesh will visit if Pakistan gives up this post in their favor?
Ans: Well! nothing decided on that yet, it's all about rumor and so as I can't comment on rumor. Until now, nothing has decided, Yes PCB and Bangladesh Cricket board has to nominate candidate of the vice president-ship of ICC which will eventually be the president of ICC. We are working on it but nothing have finalized yet.

Q8: What is about PPL? Is there any chance of Pakistan premier league to be played like other countries premier league?

Ans: Yes! Pakistan cricket board has done homework on it but still nothing has finalized on it, when it done then it will come to public.

Q9: What about the PCB and ECB relationship that were effected by the allegations of former PCB chairman?
Ans:We always have good relationship with ECB, they hosted a brilliant series against Australia. Unfortunately, misunderstandings happened, but that has been sorted out, PCB have good relations with ECB and other boards.

Q10: As PCB chairman is visiting to India, so any main point on his agenda which is going to be discussed there?

Ans: well when new chairman entered to his office, we wrote latter to all boards for future like co-ordination and sort of things especially to BCCI who gave us a positive response.

Q11: There were rumors that Asia cup is going to be postponed due to Pak-Ind series?

Ans: well there is nothing like this, but can't say about future. It's my personal opinion to not put too much things on rumor, because rumors are rumors.

Q12: What about PCB efforts in bringing cricket back to Pakistan? Any step taken for it?

Ans: Well! PCB is trying their level best to bring back cricket to Pakistan, we have constant interaction with other boards and ICC, we will try to provide them what they want. Similarly we are in constant interaction with them.

Q13: Did you have a look on our website?
Ans: No! I didn't but I will definitely have a look on it.

Q14: Any step taken by PCB on the grounds, especially for domestic cricket?
Ans: Domestic cricket is very important, It's a great achievement of PCB that despite cricket has not been played, as you know we are not playing on home grounds but still we are winning in the absences of home grounds. Home advantage is home advantage, as you saw India failing miserably in England but get the revenge back on their home grounds. Also we are experimenting a lot in domestic cricket as last time we played with color balls in domestic cricket, ICC also came to check that in Pakistan and they broadcast it. That was an important that we had done in the world. Also we introduce international security protocol on the domestic level, again we were the first one to do so. We have introduced multiple things on domestic level.

I wish, that all come out true, what he said in it.

The ECB didn't have anything to do with hosting the 'home' series with Australia, it was the MCC who did all the leg work and funded the tour!

Whatever PCB do, should b in favor of pak cricket
