Cook consecutive ton gives England 2-0 lead

England (250/4 in 50.0) beat Pakistan (230/10 in 49.0 overs) by 20 runs in the second ODI.
Green shirts received the consecutive defeat in the 4-matches ODI series against Alastair Cook XI. Comparing to last game, the green shirts tried hard but they couldn't convert their struggle into the first win of the series. Alastair Cook, England captain scored his second consecutive century in the series, he was also won the man of the match award.

Pakistan openers laid a start of 61 runs, Hafeez was the 1st batsman to go on 26 runs. Imran Farhat was looking good with 47 runs but got run out with a direct throw of Broad. Azhar Ali faced 50 balls for his 31 runs while Akmal made 21 runs from 23 balls.

At a time when Misbah and Afridi were at crease, match was in hand of Pakistan, especially when Afridi hit a six and four on 2 balls of Patel over, match totally changed into Pakistan favor. "Nature can never change" and that's what Afridi did in the next over, he was bowled by Anderson on 18 runs while trying to hit a six. Captain of Pakistan Misbah tried hard to make it Pakistan day but got out on 47 runs. Pakistan team were bowled out on 230 runs in 49.0 overs.

Earlier, England decided to bat first after winning the toss, the openers put a partnership of 67 runs. Kevin Petersen was the first victim of Saeed Ajmal and Pakistan, he was given LBW on 26 runs. Cook get the advantage of chances that were given by Umar Akmal, the runs machine scored his second century in the series.

Alastair Cook got out as he celebrate his century in the match, Afridi was the bowler who caught him on his own bowl, he scored 102 runs. Ravi Bopara 58 runs and Morgan 25 runs helped the English team to put a total of 250/4 in 50.0 overs.

Steven Finn role in this match was as important like the previous one, he took 4 wickets for 34 runs in 10.0 overs.
