Pune Warriors 192 for 3 (Ryder 86, Ganguly 41) beat Delhi Daredevils 172 for 7 (Sehwag 57, Thomas 3-22, Ganguly 2-27) by 20 runs

After a very good start to the tournament, Pune suffered two consecutive losses failing to hold the nerve in nail biting finishes. This time Ganguly was up against the team led by one of his disciples. Virender Sehwag’s good toss form continued as Pune was asked to bat yet again. Much to the worry of Pune Warriors Dinda failed to prove his fitness. As a surprised change, Samuels gave way to Alphonso Thomas, first time in this season. Without Samuels, the warriors started their innings with a batsman short. But Ryder(86), Ganguly(41) and Steven Smith(34) ensured Pune a great total of 3-192.

While in the bowling department for Delhi Irfan Pathan will consider economical as compare to that huge run chase 4overs 1 maiden 0-25 runs all 3 wickets were taken by Morne Morkel but he was the most expensive amongs all 4overs 3-50.

While chasing Delhi has changed their batting order but looses its key wicket Mahela Jayawardene for just 7 runs. After that two powerful hitter of the ball Sehwag and Pietersen shown some good hands before Pietersen (32) got bowled out on a very low bounced ball by Ganguly and after the depart of Sehwag playing a very lazy shot and get back straight to the safe hands of Murali Karthik it was merely all over for the Delhi he scored 57 runs including 4 sixes.

While Ganguly was made a succesfully came back in bowling after a long time by taking 2-27 in 4 overs while replacing man Alphanso Thomas also showed his worthness in the field by taking 3-22 in just 4 overs.

As expected Saurav Ganguly was named Man of the Match for his fantastic performances with bat as well as ball. Ha taken 2 wickets and moreover scored an important 41 runs.

Presentation:
Virender Sehwag: Never, I have never seen Sourav run the way he did. I needed to bat till the end, at least till the 16th over. We needed someone to bat on till the end, irrespective of how many batsmen we had. The wicket was good to bat on, I liked batting on this pitch.

Sourav Ganguly: Sehwag was hitting them hard, so it is a relief when he gets out. The last five overs of batting from Smith were good, but only when Sehwag got out we thought we came back into the game. Getting KP out was a big relief obviously, which was the reason behind that run.
