Brett Lee is the Man of the Match. Lee: "We summed the wicket up pretty well today. We tried to put the new ball up there to try and get the nicks, but then we took pace off it. Only four [overseas players] make it to the XI, a lot of guys miss out, that is the way it is."

It was very hard earning point for Kolkata Knight Riders against "discharged" Deccan Chargers who lost 5 consecutive matches of this season and looks like next to impossible for Chargers to come back in the main hunt. Sangakkara and company has a very tough this year IPL season as their search for victory is still on pending. Earlier today match has a delay start of an hour because of rain but good news for cricket lovers was that no deduction of overs taken place.
Kolkata won the toss and once again elected to field first at Barabati stadium Cuttack which was the host ground for Deccan Chargers. Chargers were going on course before Sangakkara (12) lost his tempo and cleaned bowled by Balaji then Parthiv Patel and Shikhar Dhawan gone out with a good partnership before Parthiv got run out but Shikhar Dhawan was very consistent with his performance in this season and scored a very good half century but he also could not remain in the hunt for so long and at-last Deccan in their last few overs didnt come out so well and scored 7-120.

KKR bowlers done a very good in job in restricting Chargers for such a low score specially Brett Lee(1-15 in 4overs), Balaji(2-22 in 4overs) and Suniel Narine(2-26 in 4overs). Bhatia also very impressive in his middle overs as he renowned for this speciality of bowling mixture of slower.
While in the chase McCullum(10) again failed to impressed with his performance and now has a very much pressure of regain his position in the team where the star players like Shakib Al Hassan, Eoin Morgan has to share the bench with the team. Gambhir on the other hand was consistent as always but their innings was so slow and lost regular wickets. Yousuf Pathan form now questioning his place in the side and it will be not surprised for us if he didnt get tha chance in next coming matches.
His poor forms continues as he made just 6 runs, started well a with a huge six but get bowled against a new comer Ankit Sharma but Knight Riders slowly but surely completed their chase in 19 overs. Manoj Tiwary(30) played situation demanding innings and Kallis(23) also contributes in the middle of the innings.

Kumar Sangakkara: "We got a great start, was a great platform. We should have got 150, but KKR fielded brilliantly. We can talk about another missed catch probably, but we bowled well, and made it difficult for KKR."
