Question of Dropping Strauss is rediculous - Michael Vaughan

Former England captain Michael Vaughan said in an interview with a sports website that it is totally "ridiculous" to drop Andrew Strauss from a test team squad of England Cricket Team.

Vaughan said that every player suffer from his bad form one day someone faces earlier while some lately. We have to accept it that this phase comes once in a life of every cricketer and Andrew Strauss is also suffering from the same. He lacks of form in recent times and also unable to score some good knocks but that doesn't means he is not deserved to be in the team his performance as a Captain is very good which is good for any team.England gain number 1spot in test for the first time only under his captaincy. All he wants is some good knocks to regain his lost momentum.

Andrew Strauss scores just one hundred in his last 50 test match innings and that too since November 2010.His average is also very poor of 26 in the last year calendar and white wash against Pakistan  and poor performance against Sri Lanka are forced critics to point their fingers against Strauss. Baking him Vaughan said Strauss knew that he is not among runs and he is also under tremendous pressure although his feet are moving quite well and there is not any problems in his batting technique. All he wants to convert that 20's and 30's into a bigger one.And he knows how to do it all he need is to patient.

It must be a matter of concern for him if he did not perform in coming West Indies tour.He is safe till now is only because their is no any experience and talented player in England team who can open the innings with Alastair Cook. There are lots of others players to bat at number 4,5 or 6 but right now we don't have such alternatives at the opening slot.So coming West Indies tour would be a better stage for him to prove his skills and his experience and I am sure he will do that quoted by Vaughan.

Vaughan also talked about himself that he also suffer from that bad form also and he also was the Captain of the team same like Strauss at that time when he played against New Zealand at Lords then no one was talking about his Captaincy but everyone was concerned about his form and he some how manage to score a hundred in that match.

Vaughan was talking at the launch of Nat-West's Locals v Legends series. The scheme offers local cricket clubs across England and Wales an opportunity to play a T20 match against a team of England legends captained by Vaughan, with an aim of providing a boost to club funds.
