Pune Warriors 156/3 (Ryder 73*, Smith 44*) beat Chennai Super Kings 155/5 (Jadeja 44, du
Plessis 43) by seven wickets
Moreover than two teams Pune Warriors and Chennai Super Kings, it was the clash between two
personalities for the race to prove themselves best captain of India that is Saurav Ganguly and Mahendra
Singh Dhoni and this time Dada won the battle and Pune Warrioirs thrashed Super Kings by 7 wickets
thanks to the splendid innings of Jessy Ryder.
After winning the toss Chennai Super Kings decided to bat first at Subrat Roy stadium in Pune.Although
their openers once again failed to provide them a good start and Murali Vijay shows down very quickly
but Du Plesis on the other hand played a wonderful knock of 43 in avery quick succession and Ravindra
Jadeja also showed some good hands at the end of the innings and scored 44 runs and gave a very
competitive target of 156 to the host.In the host side Rahul Sharma bowled beautifully (2-16)and take
two precious wickets of du Plesis and Raina.
While chasing , Jessy Ryder the sleeping tiger came in action at very right time for the host and scored
fantastic 73* not out runs moreover this time his innings consist of many phases initially he started
aggressively but as the situation demanded he played moderately in the middle of innings and he got a
very good support from his Australian counterpart Stewen Smith who scored very fast 44* not out runs
scored all around the parks.Although including two run outs most of the bowlers of CSK were remained
wicketless but R.Ashwin was a bit economical with 4overs 0-19.
Jessy Ryder was awarded by Man of the Match for his unforgettable innings of 73 runs which made a
very competitive total so easy to chase.

Sourav Ganguly: "It was good, great cricketing pitch. When you win against a team like Chennai you get
a buzz. Proud of the way the bowlers bowled, Ashish Nehra and Ashok Dinda did a good job. Smith has
improved immensely from what I had seen last."
MS Dhoni: "It was even-steven, but our execution wasn't good, we have struggled in the first six and the
last few overs. Just wanted to check who wanted to bowl, asked YoMi whether he wanted to bowl and he
looked positive, so threw him the ball. That is how you learn."
Jesse Ryder (man of the match): "I wanted to bat through the innings, I wanted to continue with that idea,
Steven Smith made it easy for me to do that. This was a different track to the one we played on in the first
game and made it easy to play the strokes. The home crowd is amazing and they are supporting us well.
Smith did a good job too. I didn't want to throw my wicket away after getting a flier."
